Homemade Mac & Cheese With Real Cheddar

Ingredients

  • 4 Cups Water
  • 4 Cups Milk
  • 2 Tablespoons Butter
  • 5 Cups Dry Large Elbow Macaroni Noodles 
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons Salt
  • 3 Tablespoons Cornstarch
  • 3 Tablespoons Water
  • 4 Cups Cheddar Cheese

Instructions

  • In a large stock pot add water, milk, butter and salt and bring to a boil. Add dry noodles and boil for 8 minutes or according to package directions. In a small bowl combine cornstarch and water and once the noodles are tender, do not strain noodles! Stir the cornstarch and water mixture into the boiling noodles and liquid over medium high heat. The mixture should begin to thicken. Stir in the cheese until it's all mixed in and liquid is thickened into a cheesy and creamy sauce covering the noodles. remove from heat.
