Ingredients
2cupsflour
1tablespoonbaking powder
1tspbaking soda
1/2tspsalt
1 1/8cupbuttermilk or 1 cup milk with 2 tablespoons white vinegar added
1/2cupsalted butter - cold
1cupshredded cheddar or mixed cheese blend
1/4cupparmesan cheese
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375 F.
Add milk with vinegar and set aside if making your own buttermilk.
Mix all dry ingredients together.
Add cold butter chunks to dry mixture and quickly mash into flour mixture with a fork or pastry cutter until butter and flour are crumbly looking. Don't use your fingers it melts the butter and will effect the layers in your biscuits.
Add shredded cheese blend and Parmesan and mix together.
Slowly add buttermilk or buttermilk mixture, stirring together as you add, once it starts to come together and form into a loose ball, then place on a floured surface and lightly press dough ball down into a flat layer with your finger tips. Use a biscuit cutter or a cup to cut out rounds.
Place on greased cookie sheet and Bake for 15-18 minutes, until tops start to lightly brown.
