This cinnamon chip banana bread is delicious! The cinnamon chips are a fun and yummy addition to this classic style banana bread.
I went on the hunt for cinnamon chips a few weeks ago when I was making my Chunky Snickerdoodle Cookies and discovered that they can be a seasonal item. So if you can’t find them in your usual grocery store, you need to get them at a bakers store.
I had a friend grab me a big bag while she was getting herself some and I put the cinnamon chips on my countertop then I saw my ripe bananas on the counter next to them. So, I did the obvious thing and decided to combine them. The recipe turned out delicious and here we are.
Banana bread is such a classic at my house and I have made a whole bunch of different variations over the years. Here are a few of the recipes I already have on my website. I love them all for different reasons and I am excited to add this recipe to my collection.

What you need to make this cinnamon chip banana bread: (printable recipe card is below)
Makes 1 loaf
- 2 bananas
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup salted butter – melted
- 2 eggs
- 1 tablespoon vanilla
- 2 cups flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup cinnamon chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 F..
- In a mixing bowl, add bananas and mash together with sugar.
- Add melted butter, eggs and vanilla and blend together.
- In another bowl, add flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg then mix together.
- Add flour mixture into the banana mixture along with the milk and mix until a thick batter forms.
- Add cinnamon chips and stir in.
- Pour into a grease and/or parchment paper lined bread pan.
- Bake for 1:10-1:15 minutes or until a toothpick can be inserted and comes out clean.
