This pumpkin chocolate chip bread is perfect for anytime of the year although it’s especially nostalgic in the fall. Obviously, I am posting about this in February, which means I really do love it any time of the year.
This recipe is full of spices, chocolate chips and of course pumpkin. I also have added an optional crumble topping if you like a crumble topping.
This recipe will make 2 medium loaves or 1 large loaf of bread. if using the crumble topping and making 1 large loaf, you can cut the crumble topping in half or it will be too much for the one loaf.
What you need to make this Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Bread: (printable recipe card below)
Makes 1 large loaf or 2 medium loaves
- 1 1/3 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup salted butter – melted
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup pure pumpkin puree
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips – milk or semi sweet
(Optional) Streusel Topping:
- 1 cup flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- pinch of pumpkin pie spice
- pinch of salt
- 6 tablespoons salted butter – melted
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 F.
- Grease bread pan or if making 2 medium loaves grease pans well.
- In a large mixing bowl, add sugar, melted butter, eggs, vanilla, pumpkin, cinnamon, pumpkin pie spice, flour, salt, baking powder and milk then mix well.
- Add chocolate chips and mix well again.
- If making medium loaves, then divide batter between the two pans, if making one large loaf then pour into large pan.
- If adding streusel to the top: Mix all streusel topping ingredients together in a separate bowl and mix until a crumble forms. If making 1 large loaf then cut streusel topping recipe in half.
- Top each loaf or the large loaf with the streusel topping.
- Bake medium loaves for about 40-45 minutes and the large loaf for about 1 hour to 1:10 minutes or until the top of the bread springs gently back when pressed on with your finger or a toothpick can be inserted and comes out clean.
- Remove from oven and allow to cool before slicing enjoying!
