This blueberry and basil mocktail is a delicious combination of blueberry syrup, fresh basil, lemon and tonic water!
I love the combination of the blueberry syrup and fresh basil. It’s refreshing and goes together surprisingly well.
I have made this drink for a few people when they visit my house and they are always intrigued by the flavors and can never quite put their finger on what the basil is until I tell them and they go “oh yeah! That’s it!” but they know that there is something herbaceous grounding this drink.
You can find blueberry syrup at stores that carry a large drink syrup selection. I personally find mine at Ikea. You can also use blueberry juice in this recipe.
You could also make your own blueberry syrup by simmering down blueberries, sugar and water together then straining out the berries and chilling the syrup.
