This elderflower white sangria is all the rage at my house! This version is alcohol free so it’s kid friendly. I personally don’t drink so I like this version, you can however sub out the white grape juice for wine if you are wanting this to be an adult beverage.
This drink is perfect for entertaining or the holidays. It’s made up of elderflower syrup (I find this at ikea stores), white grape juice, green apples, oranges, ginger ale and optional pomegranates. It’s a beautiful drink to look at but even more delicious to drink.
I love the tart green apples in this sangria and I love to eat them while drinking this drink, same goes for the pomegranates, the tartness and little pop of flavor mid drink really balances the sweetness of the drink and they make it fun to drink.
The elderflower gives a little acid and subtle elderflower flavor to the mix and it works beautifully with the ginger ale and white grape juice.
My 7 year old son told me “this is the best drink I’ve ever drank”. He’s good to keep around for my self confidence, ha ha. The truth is this is so easy to make and the ingredients do all the work.
What you need to make this elderflower white sangria:
Makes ~1/2 gallon
- 3 cups white grape juice – this can be replaced with white wine for an alcoholic version
- 1 cup elderflower juice concentrate (I find this at Ikea)
- 1 green apple – sliced into chunks
- 1 orange – thinly sliced
- 1 cup water
- 3 cups ginger ale
- 1/4 cup pomegranate arils – optional
Instructions
- Add the white grape juice, elderflower juice concentrate, apple, orange and water to a pitcher and stir.
- For the best flavors, refrigerate for a few hours up to a few days. If you are short on time you can skip this step but the flavors from the apple and orange won’t be as strong, but it’s still yummy.
- When ready to serve, add ginger ale and pomegranates.
- Serve cold or over ice and enjoy.
