I wrote this chocolate mug cake recipe for my daughter because she loves to make mug cakes and she is old enough now to mix her own ingredients and make it herself! Such an exciting moment in a mom’s life! It’s a basic and delicious chocolate cake recipe that cook in the microwave in only 1 minute. You can top with melted chocolate, hot fudge sauce, frosting or as we like to do at our house, just a dusting of powdered sugar.
This recipe can be mixed up ahead of time and stored in zip lock bags with the instructions to add milk, oil and vanilla and microwave for 1:00 on high power.
This chocolate mug cake will work in any medium to large mug or a standard 3 inch ramekin. A ramekin is what I have it pictured in on this post. I recently went on a ramekin hunt so I could teach a group of about 15 girls and ladies how to make molten chocolate lava cakes and so now I have more than a few. Ha! I don’t mind though they are great to have on hand for these mug cakes and other treats. Here are a few other recipes I have that use ramekins.
