This Swedish meatballs recipe is a really quick and easy recipe! It’s great for a busy weeknight or weekend dinner. I use store bought meatballs when I make these because it saves alot of time. I will however share my meatball recipe below that can be used in this recipe if you want to make the meatballs from scratch.

What you need to make swedish meatballs:
Serves 6 people
- 1 medium yellow onion – diced
- 2 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- 1 can of water
- 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- dash of allspice
- 3 tablespoons apple juice – apple cider can be used as well
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- 1 package frozen Swedish meatballs
- 1 package of egg noodles – cooked
- 1 tablespoon butter
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Cook egg noodles, toss in butter or oil so they don’t stick then drain and set aside.
- Dice the onion and add it to a skillet along with olive oil and salt.
- Cook until onion softens and begins to brown.
- Add cream of mushroom soup, water, nutmeg, back pepper, allspice, apple juice, apple cider vinegar and sour cream and bring mixture to a boil.
- Add frozen meatballs and simmer until meatballs are cooked through.
- Serve over egg noodles.
