Snickerdoodles are a favorite around my house. My husband always says “did you know I love snickerdoodles” every time I make them. I imagine he’ll say the same thing every time he eats one for the rest of his life. These snickerdoodles are chewy, buttery, cinnamony and delicious!
These snickerdoodles are sure to please any cinnamon sugar lover and are perfect for potlucks, parties, family get together’s or after school snacks. You can even freeze the dough balls for a easy cookie treat whenever you want to bake them.
what you need to make snickerdoodles:
Makes 24 large cookies
- 2 sticks butter
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 tablespoons cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375 F.
- In a mixing bowl, add butter and sugar and cream together.
- Add the eggs and vanilla and blend until smooth.
- In another bowl, add flour, salt, cream of tartar and baking soda and mix together.
- Add the dry mixture to the butter mixture and stir until batter forms.
- In another bowl add sugar and cinnamon sugar and roll dough into balls then roll in cinnamon sugar mixture.
- Place on greased or lined cookie sheet and bake for ~ 8 minutes.
