This instant pot lemony rice recipe is super easy and delicious! It’s full of oregano and lemon flavors and the texture is super soft and moist. I eat this with my Greek lemon pepper chicken (RECIPE HERE) or as a side dish for any meal.
My kids thought this was a little sour so if you want a more subtle lemon flavor, then just add 1/2 of a lemon sliced. But if you want to taste the lemon full force then follow the recipe below.
What you need to make instant pot lemony rice:

- 2 cups white rice – You can use brown rice too, just add 1/2 cup more water.
- 4 cups water
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 teaspoons salt
- dash of cayenne pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/2 of a lemon sliced
Instructions
- Add all ingredients to the instant pot.
- Do not stir.
- Cook on high pressure for 10 minutes with a quick release.
- Simmer if any liquid is still in the pot when it is opened.
- Remove lemon slices.
- Enjoy!
