These cherry cheese cake bars are great for picnics or potlucks. They taste like the name suggests, cherry pie filling with cheese cake mixed in. They are easy to make and can be made with store bought crusts or you can make your own using my easy homemade pie dough recipe. (recipe here).
What you need to make cherry cheese cake bars:
served ~15 people
- 3 pie crusts – store bought or my easy pie crust recipe HERE.
- 1 package cream cheese- softened
- 2/3 cups sugar
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 2 eggs
- 1 tablespoon vanilla
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 2 cans cherry pie filling
- For the glaze:
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- pinch of salt
- 1 teaspoons vanilla
- 2 tablespoons milk
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400 F.
- Roll 2 pie crust out so they cover the bottom of a greased cookie sheet.
- In a bowl, use an electric whisk to mix cream cheese, sugar, sour cream, eggs, vanilla and lemon juice until that mixture is smooth.
- Pour that mixture onto the pie crust and smooth out.
- Add cherry pie filling in spoonfuls on top.
- Roll out the remaining pie crust and slice into strips.
- Lay the strips in a lattice pattern over the tops.
- Bake for 30 minute.
- Mix together the glaze ingredients then drizzle over the top.
- Enjoy!
