These chocolate spiced banana chocolate chip muffins are moist, chocolaty with banana and spices that all work together to make a yummy and indulgent muffin. My peanut butter banana chocolate chip muffin recipe I have on here (RECIPE HERE) has the secret ingredient of extra dark chocolate grated into the batter. These muffins take that depth of chocolate flavor a step further and they are delicious!


These are a great way to use up ripe bananas and can be frozen for easy breakfasts or snacks.
What you need to make these chocolate spiced banana chocolate chip muffins:
Makes 24 muffins
- 3 banana – the riper the better
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup butter
- 2 eggs
- 1 tablespoons vanilla extract
- 2 cup flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 2/3 cup milk
- 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Pre-heat oven to 350 F.
- In a large mixing bowl, add bananas, sugar, brown sugar and butter and blend together until all blended together.
- Add eggs and vanilla extract and mix well.
- In another bowl, add flour, baking powder, salt, cocoa powder, cinnamon and nutmeg and stir together.
- Add Flour mixture to the banana and egg mixture.
- Add milk and blend everything together.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Spoon into muffin tins until they a re ~3/4 the way full.
- Bakes for 15-18 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean of batter, their will probably be chocolate on the toothpick.
