This easy teriyaki grilled chicken is super simple to make! It’s a very lightly glazed chicken with just the right amount of sweetness from honey and great teriyaki flavors from soy sauce, garlic and ginger.

This is a family favorite recipe at my house and everyone always devours it! I make extras because the leftovers are great too.
I serve this chicken with my easy teriyaki sauce (recipe here) but that is optional, this chicken tastes great without the sauce too.
What you need to make easy teriyaki grilled chicken: (printable recipe card is below)
Serves 4 people
- 2.5 pounds boneless skinless chicken thighs
- Generous pinch of salt
- 3 tablespoons honey
- 1-1/2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 1-1/2 teaspoons ground ginger
- 4 tablespoons soy sauce

Instructions
- Preheat grill to 400 F.
- Place chicken thighs in a bowl and sprinkle with a generous pinch of salt.
- Add in the honey, garlic powder, ground ginger and soy sauce to bowl and mix chicken around so it gets nicely coated.
- Place on grill and cook for roughly 7 minutes then flip over and cook for roughly 7 more minutes or until chicken’s internal temperature is ~165 F.
- Remove from grill, rest meat and serve with or without teriyaki sauce.

Easy Teriyaki Sauce
Super easy to make and extra delicious to eat, this teriyaki sauce is a family favorite!
Servings 1 cup
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon toasted sesame oil – optional
Instructions
- In a sauce pan, add soy sauce, honey, sugar, garlic powder, ginger, water, cornstarch and sesame oil and whisk together while still cold.
- Heat over high heat and stir mixture until it comes to a boil and begins to thicken.
- Remove from heat, if your sauce over reduced, add a little more water to get to your desired consistency.
