Easy Cheese Sauce

This easy cheese sauce comes together super quickly! It tastes great on anything from macaroni and cheese, nachos, fondue, vegetables or used as a dip for soft pretzels! I love it with my low carb pretzels RECIPE HERE.

This Sauce is velvety smooth and full of cheese flavor! It takes just a few minutes to make and everyone will love it!

What you need to make this easy cheese sauce:

makes ~ 2 cups sauce

  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 1/2 cup whipping cream or milk
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1-1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. In a small sauce pan, over medium heat, add butter and sprinkle flour over melting butter.
  2. Next, whisk the flour and butter together until flour is dissolved into the butter.
  3. Add cream, water and salt and whisk mixture together until smooth.
  4. Bring mixture to a boil and boil for 2-3 minutes whisking continuously.
  5. Now add shredded cheddar cheese and stir until all is incorporated.
  6. Remove from heat and serve.
