Oven Baked Butternut Squash “Fries”

Want a yummy and healthy side dish? These Oven baked butternut squash “fries” make a great side dish! You can also use pre-cubed butternut squash to make oven baked butternut squash bites to cut down on prep time. Whatever you call them they tasty delicious!

What you need to make oven baked butternut squash “fries”:

  • 1 large butternut squash – skinned and cut into batons
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • dash of cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 cup Italian bread crumbs

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 450 F.
  2. Skin and prepare the butternut squash.
  3. Mix the egg and milk in one bowl.
  4. In another bowl combine flour and spices.
  5. Toss the squash in the egg mixture then toss in the flour mixture.
  6. Toss in Italian bread crumbs.
  7. Place on a lined cookie sheet and bake for 40 minutes.
