My husband loves chicken fried steak! Every time we go to a diner he orders it. It has even become a little bit of a joke among family and they bet on him ordering it. They sit in silent anticipation then you hear some giggles and laughter when he orders it. He’s a good sport and couldn’t care less because he gets what he wants, which is chicken fried steak.
So when making this air fried healthy chicken fried steak recipe I had a high standard to live up to with my husband. I am happy to say he loved it and totally approved! Woohoo!
If you don’t have an air fryer no worries, you can bake this recipe and the flavors will still be great, it probably won’t have the exact crispy outsides like the air fryer provides though. If you do bake it, bake on 400 F. for 20 minutes, flipping over at 12 minutes.
This air fried healthy chicken fried steak is lower carb so it’s not just the air fried part that makes it healthier. The gravy is healthier too and super simple to make!
