Crock Pot Mexican Spiced Shredded Pork

This crock pot Mexican spiced shredded pork can be eaten on it’s own or used in burritos, tacos, chimichangas, tamales (like I did in the picture below), nachos, toquitos or really whatever your heart desires to use it in! It’s delicious and easy to make! Seriously, just add the pork shoulder or butt roast into the crock pot, add spices and seasonings, turn the crock pot on low and come back in 8-9 hours to moist and delicious shred-able pork! So tender it will just fall apart! You can also freeze the leftovers for a easy and convenient meal later!

Pork tamales with this crock pot Mexican Spiced Shredded Pork

what you need

makes about 4 pounds of shredded pork

~6 pound bone in or boneless pork butt or shoulder roast
4 teaspoons garlic powder
2 teaspoons cumin
1 teaspoon chipolte chili pepper powder
1 teaspoon black pepper
2 tablespoons salt
3 tablespoons brown sugar

Instructions
  1. Mix garlic powder, cumin, chili pepper, black pepper, salt and brown sugar all together in a small bowl.
  2. Sprinkle seasoning all over the pork roast.
  3. Any excess seasoning that falls off, add to the crock pot.
  4. Place roast in the crock pot and cook on low for 8-9 hours.
  5. Shred and serve or use in any dish you want.
