Creamy Pesto Tomato Pasta Bake

Sometimes I just want a comforting and easy pasta dish that is guaranteed to please everyone at my table! This creamy pesto tomato pasta bake does just that! It always leaves my table companions happy and full!

The mix of beef, sausage, herbs, pasta and cheese work so well together! Serve along side some salad and garlic bread and you will have even happier dinner mates!

What you need

Serves 6 people

1 pound large pasta shells
1 pound ground beef
1/2 pound mild ground sausage
3 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon dried basil
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon salt
24 ounce jar of spaghetti sauce
3/4 cup Alfredo sauce
1/4 cup basil pesto
1-1/2 cups shredded cheese – cheddar blend
1/4 cup Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 F.
  2. Boil pasta until al dente.
  3. Cook ground beef, sausage, in olive oil. Add dried basil, garlic powder and salt.
  4. Once meat is cooked, add spaghetti sauce, Alfredo sauce, and pesto. Bring to a boil.
  5. Drain and add pasta and stir together.
  6. Add 1 cup cheese and Parmesan cheese to the mix and stir in.
  7. Pour noodles and sauce into a 9 X 13 baking dish and cover the tops with 1/2 cup cheese.
  8. Bake for 20 minutes. Serve.
